The Thornwaite inheritance by Gareth P. Jones

Twins Ovid and Lorelli Thornthwaite take sibling rivalry to new heights. Tucked away in Thornwaite manor, the two orphans cook up ingenious plots to kill each other off, often missing their target by a hair’s breadth. Neither can remember how it all started – was it the working guillotine or the exploding lolly ? Afraid that murder might run in their blood, the twins reluctantly agree a truce. To be sure that neither may be tempted to resume hostilities, their deceased parents’ Will is to be changed to cut out the surviving child if either die before the age of 16. Yet their troubles are far from over. Can it be that one is reneging on their pact or is something more sinister afoot?

The Thornthwaite Inheritance (F JON) is a fun read peppered with suspense and surprise revelations as the story unfolds. With a final show down reminiscent of Agatha Christie, this classic « who dunnit » murder mystery contains sufficient twists and turns to keep the reader hooked until the end.
